Continental CrossContact AT

Any reviews on this tyre? It is a competitor to the Geolander and Michelin LTX series. It has an attractive pattern, but want to know what people really think of it.

It seems to be a very popular tyre. It is also quite a bit more expensive than the Yokohama. A friend has a Scorpio which goes off road some times and he was looking at this. Price is not really an object for him. He asked me for my opinion. I very frankly, dont know anything abt it's performance.

What do the users have to say(if any) ?

I have these on my ML. They came standard fitment. Am not happy with the ride quality. They are good for offroading though. Detailed reviews can be seen on tirerack.com site.

I have seen this tire at Tyre Shoppe Noida. It was continental, but I did not read the entire name. It was for Safari Looks rugged and has a very deep tread. Looks very "offroadish" just like the BF GoodRich tire

Hi can you post the price of this so that it will be helpful for others.

"
Thanks to the open outer shoulder Continental Cross Contact AT provides good handling and braking properties even on easy terrain. The four deep and broad circumferential grooves widen towards the opening, ensuring very good aquaplaning resistance and reducing tyre damage by hindering stones from getting caught. Thanks to their rib characteristic and pronounced siping, the three circumferential block rows make for precise steering response and very good straightline performance while guaranteeing that the tyre rolls very smoothly and quietly..

Grip in Dry: 4 out of 5
Grip in wet: 4 out of 5
Overall performance: 4 out of 5

Pricing is abt 10% higher than Yokohama Geolander. But a little bit lesser than Michelin LTX.

For example, 235/70-16 is abt 6.9k

Nikhil from most dealers I have enquired this is priced about 5% less than Yoko. Dealers told me continental dropped prices to promote their tires. Price drop is across the range.

I bought a set of 4 for my safari.
Total cost inclusive of 12.5% VAT with bill came to around 6150/tire, however I paid much lower due to reselling of my older tires.

For some reason, I saw this only today!

Well, it is true. I dont remember in the case of this particular size, but I do know that they have dropped prices for a few sizes to boost sales. Also, the drop in prices has been varied for various parts of the country. For example, 235/70 R16 may be cheaper in BLR but 205/65 R15 might be cheaper in Delhi.

Anyway, congrats on the purchase! 6150/- is a good price for a tyre which is usually much more expensive than Yokos. Here in BLR, Yoko Geolander costs 6150/-

Do let us know how the tyres feel. With respect to gri(on road and off road) and comfort.

Nikhil, one of my friend who owns an AWD Duster had these shoes in Bangalore. I have seen those tyres perform really good in slush as well in the Leh circuit when we visited last year.

Instead of meeting up at his shop we decided to catch up on the road and then a drive for breakfast.
