Apollo Aspire - does it actually exist in india?

Yes I know it exists - its there on the website, and is listed as an apollo product, but have never seen anyone discussing it , or on any cars on the road - the sizes its available in seem a bit unfamiliar ( havent seen any cars wearing acelere sportz either, but thats another story)

A few questions
1. Does apollo actually try to sell it, or was it just made as a concept/technology demonstrator/flagship in just name
2. If it does, do people actually buy it, and is it any good?

Rarely do they have it in stock. It generally starts from 15" and above. They are not really making any effort to sell it. They are focused big time on the Accelere Range right now.

I think it was made more of a technology demonstrator. Like a halo product.

and he second question, what about the acelere sportz - is it any good ? they seem to be promoting it quite heavily, with the break the pattern ad campaign etc. Its on top of my "tyres i wanna buy" list if its priced reasonably

No idea about performance. It is available if you want it. Dont know how much in areas like Kerala, but in metros, yes.

ouch. I thought it was only marginally more expensive :|
then chances are I'll stick to regular aceleres, unless the performance is as good

the michelin's he's talking about are PP2's both 185/60 R14.

Have seen it in Bangalore, In Apollo showroom tread pattern seems decent, and claim is it is 100% silica based compound tire and to be as goos as AD-07s in terms of grip levels but bad thing is available in size 17 only

It could be due to name 'Aspire' used by Apollo. I think Acer holds rights for this name in India, Acer has/had their PC/laptop range as 'Acer Aspire'.

I also recollect that Bajaj Auto had launched a bike with name as 'Aspire' few years back but had to stop sales due to this issue.

I would be very very surprised if they come even close to the AD07's. But, I have never seen even a single car shod with them so finding a set for test is another task altogether!
