speedo & odo error

Hi guys,
Just bought a Getz ...Changed to Aura alloys & I have clocked 350 km.The original tyres were 175/70 R13, now it is 195/60 R14.What will the speedo & odo error be?..Checked the mileage today & it gives 9.5 km with AC on 80% of the times.

ur speedo has a 2.5%error.so if your speedo shows 100kph you ar e actually travelling at 102.5kph.
same with your odo.so a 10kpl FE means ,u have got 10.25 kpl.

185/60r14 would have been the more accurate upsize .even 195/55r14 woul dhave been closer to the OE OD

Thanks pal.....I chose 195/60 R14 coz' the top end Getz comes with 175/65 R14...that's closer to the 195's profile. Also, people at Hyundai said it is OK.I hope it is .

Compared to GLS your new tyre is 1.1% too slow. So when you are traveling at 100kmph you are actually traveling at 101kmph. You have also raised the ground clearance of the car by 4 mm.

How is the ride quality of the car effected? Do you feel the bumps more? Any improvement in performance or just cosmetic beauty that led you to this decision?

Well...ride quality has gone down...especially noticable at the back. But,handling has improved a lot.I did some curves at 90 kmph before & after changing them..I must say, there is too much of a difference.

I changed them partly for the look,(which I think the Getz deserves) & also coz' I do a lot of highway travel.

Yeah, this was a difficult decision as there is no ideal size for your car in 185. I dont recommend going below 65 in aspect ratio specially in Indian roads as the ride quality is severly effected.

I upsized my Swift from 165/80/14 to 185/70/14 and even I feel that the rear is not cushioned as much, and in your case your profile is even lower. But I am sure you dont mind the harsher ride every time you look at your tyres
