Hey Viper,

You are losing that "W126" look with the new alloys. They are nice but not the first choice. But hell, if you already got them...enjoy!

GTO,

Haven't bought them they are on approval for a day. Even my dad is not very happy because of the front grease cap being open. May eventually just go for new rubber on my original rims.

Going for a spin with my dad as he wants to drive and see ride quality and then immeditaely take a call as he wants to do whatever decided today.

Rudra/GTO,

Have finally decided to retain the original rims and just change the tyres. Looking for some good tyres in sizes given below

1> 225/70/14
2> 225/65/14
3> 225/60/14

Looking for a nice sporty tread something like either Goodyear Fi GSD3, Pirelli P6000 or P5000, Drifters Dunlop pattern, Bridgestone, Yokohoma.

Can anyone help with prices and availibility. I have been told that you do not get more than 205 width in 14". I need the tyres asap

Agree with the old man here. These rims wouldnt be my choice on the car either. Cant find anything closer to the original design? Since u are going 17s anyway how about the AMG set S600bonz wrote about?

Hey Autopsyche,

The problem about the front grease cap jutting out is still there hence my decision to stick to the original 14" rims. Check out the 3rd image where I have shown the problem. If anyone can offer me a solution I'd love to go for 16" o r 17". BTW the problem of the grease cap protruding is there on all rims tried from 15" thru 17".

Mine is a 1986 500SEL European spec and came originally with 205/70/14. Giving below a pic of a merc with my design of rims.

Hey Asad,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have however decided to retain the original size and have already bought and fitted 205/70/14 Yokohoma A300 tyres.
