Help me select a Tyre for CRDi

Guys ,

I am looking at 195/60R14.My budget is around 2600 per piece.

I guess my options are

GoodYear NCT5
Goodyear Ducaro
Goodyear Eagle ventura

If there are more choices in that segment, pls advice. What i need is good ride comfort and what i dont need is a drastic reduction in mileage and tyre life.

Hey Buddy,

I very much doubt any of the tyres you mentioned will come in your budget or size other than the NCT5 which also costs around 2800 in Mumbai. Most come in other profiles like 195/65/14.

Hi Nash

Go to Cartech (on the right side before you reach Popular Maruti) and he will give you good advice for what you get for that budget.

Then go next door to Global Tyres and pick up the tyres that he recommended.

Abracadabra!

Okay let us know what shoes you finally bought for your babe. Avoid Pitstop, by all means - they really are the pits...

Hey,

Go for the venturas over the Ducaro. I have used the Venturas in my esteem and santro for over 2 years excellent all round performance.

artofzen i think in ur budget....u will have limited products to choose from...and taking in consideration that the tyres are the most crucial part of a car u shud select wisely....and its not that we spend on our car tyres very often...so i think u shud go for the best once and for all....i have an accent and i have 195/50/R15 on my car...the tyres are bridgestone potenza gIII's on 15"rims and i think that these tryes are by far the most reliable ones....well at the end it depends upon u!

Agree with steeriod (thanx for the PM)

You're right...the pitstop guys have no idea other than what's stocked on their shelves.
When I went to enquire about tires for my accent, they could even suggest whether i needed 185/65-14 or 185/60-14 !! I didn't get the 185/60 ones because somebody told me that the ride is bad on them. BS didn't have 185/65 and I didn't go for Goodyears.

I don't think they ever heard about upsizing either because they insisted that Accent should always wear 175/70 tires and nothing else !!!! LOL

So probably have to wait till my next tire change. :-(

Get the Goodyear Eagle Venturas.
They are the best in your budget.
If you can stretch get Bridgestone Potenzas GIIIs and if you get 15 inchers get Eagle GS D3s.

Next to Global Tyres, between The Renaissance and Popular's Maruti showroom. I think the chap's name is Alex...nice guy, competent tyre workshop.

How does Goodyear differentiate these tires in their marketing literature? I'm sure one is grippier sporty tire and the other is for grocery getters and the third somewhere in between. Would like to know myself.
