Civic, Octavia, Cruze, Optra Magnum, Corolla Altis - what tyre for 17" alloys?

I have been trying hard to find 205/50 R17 tyres for my Linea. As I was not getting tyres of this spec, I was wondering what the owners of Civic, Octavia, Cruze, Optra Magnum, Corolla Altis, etc. did when they changed their alloys to 17" from their 195/65 R15.

What are the other options with me?
  1. 205/55 R16 should be easily available, but I'm not interested. I would rather put 195/65 R15 itself.
  2. 205/45 R17 is a perfect size, but I need that extra 10 mm to avoid ground clearance issues. Moreover, 205/45 is a little on lower side of profile for Indian roads.
  3. 225/45 R17 are available with most tyre makers. But most of them comes with speed rating of W and I'm sure they will charge me a lot more those tyres. I just need average tyres. Moreover, I would need 17 x 8 J for this tyre, whereas most 17" alloys here in the market are of 7 J.
If anyone had gone to R17 for this diameter, what did you do? Your experience and feedback would help. Thanks.
