The ES100 are not bad tyres, they were just not suited to your usage.
Don't mind me asking, but was it just the dealer or were you taken in by the sporty looks of the tyre as well ? Because most people fall for the ES 100's looks and later crib about less mileage and hard ride.
They're basically sport tyres, unlike say A / C drives which are more towards ride comfort / longevity.

Looks was my choice, but the awkward upgrade size was pushed by the dealer.

Re: Tyre Review : Goodyear Duraplus

Driving the Manza for 4 years .-56000kms done so far
Yesterday have switched the tyres to Goodyear Duraplus 185-60 R15.
Cost Rs 4150/-
(per tyre including new valves , fitting alignment and balancing + weights. )
Tyre Shop : Straighline - Mr Trevor -Santacruz Mumbai

1)1st 18000 kms were on bridgstones b250 185 60 15.
Had side wall cuts on 3 tyres and was forced to change

2)18000kms to 56000kms were on Yokohama c drives
195 -60 r15.
(rs5250/- per tyre)
silent ,
soft and bigger sidewall meant better ride quality
slightly more body roll.
slightly better looks (occupied the wheel well space slightly better)

3)on last sunday , on NH17, had damaged sidewall of 2 tyres(big bubbles)
was already fed up of punctures on 38000kms old c drives.
So switched to Good Year Dura plus @ 4150/- per tyre
Size of tyre back to 185-60-R15
(inclusions mentioned above)
Done 50 kmson them so far
Initial impressions
A)Noisy
B)Cannot match up to the ride quality of the c drives 195-60 R15.
but still the ride ride quality is more or less 'Ok'
C)I was used to c drive 195 60 15 looks .
So these GyDp 185-60 R15 looks slightly bad in comparison
D)yet to test the braking at high speeds. City speed braking is at par with the C drives.
E)Steering feels 10-15% lighter. But there was a certain vagueness at center position that had crept in
off late with the c drives which seems to have reduced now for good.

More or less i feel the GYDPs are at par or better then the stock bridgstone b250s which were there on the new car from the factory.
But dont expect them to feel like Yoko C drives.

Hope this helps.

Re: Tyre Review : Goodyear Duraplus

My 2 year old SWIFT had a sidewall cut in one of the tires which are stock GY Duraplus. I am planning on changing it soon, but I am not sure whether I should change all 4 of them together or can I do it piecemeal?

The tires have done 20K+ kms in the last 2 years and treads are not very faded. Btw its an ZXI and has ABS, is that also a consideration?
