No probs bro..

so the moral of the story is -- always do a lot of research befor spending ur hard earned cash to buy anything, not jst tyres.. hope i wont have to flash after doing all this research, getting the es100 and driving around..

Re: Maxxis surpasa MA-V1 vs Yokohama ES100

Just came across this comparison chart posted by a TBhpian (see attachment) ...its from 1010tyres.com.... its for 15 inch rims

Still does that mean it is better getting a 205/55/r14 than a 195/60/r14 ... will 205 fit the rims of honda city 2004 model without scrapping...And does es100 come in that size....

dint know buyig tyres was such a big deal....

Hey hatari why fuss about it now.Its already bought man.
You should instead enjoy them.
Wait for them to wear off and upgrade to comfort oriented tires.

^^
Am enjoying them!
Nothing wrong with them
the fussing was attributed only to post purchase dissonance.

Re: Maxxis surpasa MA-V1 vs Yokohama ES100

Got 2 quotes from chennai dealers for the Es100 195/60/14 --
Central tires (mount road) - 4000Rs wth fitting
Wheel wares (mahalingapuram) - 4300 with fixing

The Central tires price is damn good considering the 3800rs quoted by the kerala dealer.. cos that wud b 3800+parcel charges+fitting charges ...and wud go above 4k per tyre.... so anyone from chennai who got tires from central tires or wheel wares... any good or bad experience with these dealer....they were decent on the phone...

If everything works out, will be heading out this saturday to get my ride a new set of shoes.... also wht wud be an approx fair price for the old tires BS turanza thts done 55k.

Re: Maxxis surpasa MA-V1 vs Yokohama ES100

I run 205/60 r14 ES 100 & have had them on my Verna CRDi for almost last 7000 Kms.. Was running B250 before...In Bangalore & highways around, & also considering twice a year trip to Bombay & back - I think ES 100 score even better than B250 in many ways..Excellent gripping & breaking, & a better steering feedback coming out as a bonus. Major drawback is the noise they produce on the concrete roads, & as many have rightly mentioned that they do attract a lot of stones from the road..I keep plucking them out intermittently...I got mine at 3700 a tyre from Sai tyre company in wilson garden in Bangalore

Stick to tried and tested tyre dealers.
We have a section where dealers and shops are rated by members: Chennai - Team-BHP

Re: Maxxis surpasa MA-V1 vs Yokohama ES100

Thanks all for your suggestions and replies to my queries... got the tires.. but not the es100.... :(

went to central tyres since they confirmed they had es100 195/60.. but it turned out it was 185/60 and they would need another few days... none of the others I checked out had stock and one dealer was located somewhere far off..

Alas I was left with just 2 options -- wait for the es100 stock to be available or as per dealer recommendation go for A-drive 195/60/14... Considering the condition of my tires, the bad roads and my free time.. i had to make a fast decision... and so went for the A-drive...

THe tires looked big on the car compared to the earlier 175/65 ... seems to make the car look taller.. maybe since it is brand new.. will give a detaild feedback on the ride quality once i have a few kms on the odo with the new shoes....
