Really nice restoration, but delivery by road? Isn't there a lot of risk involved in this method of delivery?

Maybe nothing major happens but I am sure there would have been a few scratches....

A noob question: Those wheels are non-OEM right?

Nice job done on the car. We should be appreciating the quality of work rather than the risk involved in driving to deliver the car.

Drive to Deliver? Ya, that's how Pavan proves his workmanship. This is not the first car he drove to deliver. There were many others. About the scratches, I doubt if there are any!

Holy cow, now that's a unique road-trip. What better way to experience such a beautiful car. What better way to test its reliability!

Great pictures, fantastic output as always Pavan. I'm sure you guys turned heads everywhere you drove.

Would be great if you could share some info on how she performed, especially relative to the modern cars we're otherwise used to.

Rating thread a fully-deserved 5 stars!

Risks are a part and parcel of life, when you restore a car for a like minded enthusiast like me, the wavelength matches to the T.

There was one scratch on the car, and we touched it up with paint the moment we reached Guwahati. The final set of pics tell the condition in which we delivered the Fastback.

All Clean and Fresh.

Wow, fantastic car and the pics of the drive.

Just curious to know, how many states and countries did you travel as part of this trip?

re: 1967 VW Fastback: A 3286 kms Road-Trip

Totally dumbstruck, what an experience it must have been. To embark on such a journey in any car is a treat, and to top it all in such an exquisitely restored specimen, am sure you must have felt like a king!

The confidence to undertake such a trip talks miles about the quality of work done and the reliability of the vehicle itself.

I like the attitude, if you have a car - Drive It!

You can never enjoy it as much in your garage!

Cheers!

Hi Pavan,

Nice pictures... looks like it was really fun to drive the 1967 Volkswagen T3 (LHD)...

That is an Epic road trip Pavan I have seen a lot of VW Beetles, But never came across the T3 fastback. The car looks very cool; From the front, it reminds me of Porsche 911 of the 70s. Covering such high mileage with a 47 year old car speaks highly about your restoration job

Dear Sirji

Great Car, Greater Journey and greatest Restoration!!

Speaks volumes of your workmanship in "running in" a 47 year "new" car and delivering 3000 kms away.

Excellent restoration and a well deserved 5 stars for this unique thread!!
