Hi Karlos, since some of the cars we have discussed do qualify for the rust in pieces thread, hope you will forgive us our trespasses.
Packard , when in Khushroo Baug was unpainted, primer only.
The Y series MG with Vakil later is the one offered to me by a broker from Pune who wanted to take me to Kolhapur? to buy it from one of the owners of Archies(Pune).Foolishly declined at 35k.
Hi again Harit, still neck deep in swimming, also the reason I dont live in Bombay anymore and part of the reason why there was little time or money to indulge my passion for cars all these years.
To answer in brief
Alfa+Jag could have been held by lawyer. You are probably right about metallic hardtop.
Owner of wire wheel Jag was with Air India, initials B.C.
Jag mk2 guilty though yet uncharged, turn myself in!
Allard, I think I remember now, asked the driver of the car whose it was, he said and I may be wrong, that it had been lying unused for a long time, son of the owner had come back from abroad and woud be using it, not for sale, also remember now fuel feed was bottle held up by guy sitting next to him pipe directly to carb, maybe tank was rotten or pump had failed.Never saw it again.
Remembered MG TC Red Nepean Sea Road prominent marwari family owned.
Also silver Jag XK120 seen at Gowalia tank several times and another XK at Altamount Road opp -----?Kutir, one more parked covered at Hotel Kemps Corner where the BMW's now stand.
Had you heard of XK in Ooty with engine opened up?
By the way where is the guy who called himself, if I remember correctly, Bhalerao Motorwala, came to my house one day with a photo album of several of the cars seen at the Cartier show(or their twins) and more like them, all supposedly for sale at exorbitant prices for that time?
Bye.

Hillman Minx

I came across this Minx, lying on its side. There is no rear axle! I am told axle along with mud guards, lights, etc are stored and kept intact. Is there any hope to revive the car? I am guessing the model year should be between 1944 - 1950.

It's a '48-49 Minx. Really a sad sight! 'wonder why it was pushed over like that!

Came across these cars on the road side recently. Can anyone identify the car with the pink primer?

There is lots of hope in reviving this car.

Nothing much is lost buddy. Sad to see the way its been rolled over to one side.

Someone needs to wake up that Minx from its slumber.

That's a late 50s/early 60s Hillman Minx (imported)

Really sad to see the Pennant like that! BTW, (sorry but can't help being tempted!) any chance of getting some parts off it, if it's abandoned?

What's the story on these cars? 'looks like a roadside workshop/garage.

Austin 'SEVEN' found in Bangalore!

Hi Guys! Here's another surprise for the day! It an Austin Seven I spotted today along with the VW bug and the Super-Select! The car has no engine! I got pictures form a distance as it was behind the barb-wires and the owner of the property wasn't around! It could make a good 'donor' car! Have a look!

PS: I'm looking for other BHP-ians in BLR/CCU who are interested in Classic scouting! I'm pretty much 'jobless' and I this is a formal call to all other 'like-minded' classic lovers who have the time and wouldn't mind spending it scouting for classics!!! Fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Souvik!
