A few months ago, I spotted this rotting classic outside the Merc service center in Parel. Can anyone figure out what this is?

That looks to be a 1954 Dodge / DeSoto / Plymouth convertible

Was going through the retro posts and just was curious on this one. These two cars, the Premier Padmini ( WMB ,1974 or 1975 Regd. in Kolkata ) and the Ambassador ( WMC ,1975 or 1975 Regd. in Kolkata )

are these somewhere in Kolkata.. If so, and if still they are there,will find time some day to go and see them in person..

This colour shade "Aero Blue" was original from the HM factory.. and not aftermaket.. very few numbers were produced in this shade. Appears this was not a popular shade and perhaps was discontinued.

What is the current condition of the car. Has it been restored..?

I was not aware of this.. that Karthik has left us all for his heavenly abode..

Our dear Kartik was only 45 years old when he passed away this May'22.

He is still being missed and we think of him regularly.

The car that you saw in my post is not mine. I saw it in a scrapyard and I put it up here hoping someone might come across to salvage it. Mines a golden Color in the beginning of this thread.
Regarding the blue, I’m unsure of what came to it since I left town soon after.

Here is what they've been reduced to now :











There is literally nothing left of them . Even the Maruti 800 has completely disintegrated long beyond repair now. It's a sad sight indeed considering I remember observing the trio when they were mint back in the day.
