Nice pictures shyn. The Fiat is looking quite OK and fit for a good restoration job.
The other car is a Morris Minor - possibly a low light, late 1940's two door model.

Thanks for the correction mate!
There was also this old Merc at the same garage with the Fiat 1100. Don't know the model though!

Seeing the Morris for the first time though.

The Fiat 1100 has been lying with the same guy (another mechanic!) since ages. He said the paint was ruined when he put the car under a plastic cover for a while. He claimed that he was going to restore it (back in 2007!) and didnt want to sell it. Claimed that he even got an offer of upto 75k from someone in B'lore and so on and so forth....sound familiar?

The Merc. would be a W108 if I'm not mistaken. He said its a Delhi car and without papers, hence abandoned there.

Yes absolutely the same one, in fact this same car used to be in a garage around 5-6 kms far from my place but then it was in a very sorry state.

Shyn I remember these two cars (the Merc and Fiat 1100) in fact I dealt the Fiat in the past but the owner was quoting 70k this was 4 years back, I was almost ready for 60k but deal did not go through, this car has the original stuff like grille, air filter etc. I feel sorry about the Merc and he also had few other cars rotting in the same place. The same garage owner has a good condition JEEP which takes part in some rallies.

Nice WV golf my Favorite is it by any chance for sale? I liked the roof carrier and alloys.

The Morris Minor is most likely an early 50s model. As anjan mentioned, it could also be a low-light model. Difficult to tell with the front mudguards and bumper removed.

On a lighter note, maybe the owner thought those alloys were meant for climbing up that little mud-hill but couldnt succeed so left it there midway!

I dont know how familiar you are with the location but both the cars are in the 'old' city, just opposite the rear of the local bus station. Do you visit Hyderabad often?

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

I remember seeing a Nicely maintained VW Golf/Rabbit at Banjara Hills in 2007, cant really remember the color was it brown or black. If its the same car, then what a shame, in 4 years she's in such a bad state.

Stanher... Thanks. I do but not as often. Any chance you'd have the mechanic's number?

No I don't, sorry! I did in my old mobile phone. You could try asking 'chanu' though.

In Banjara Hills the Sahani family had a white Golf that was Diesel.

Shazor Mirza had a nice yellow colored Golf too near the University
