Did ask the gentleman about selling the car. He bluntly refused it. But I think he would take a decision soon as the municipal corporation guys are pestering him to take the car off the road.

Thank you, i really would appreciate it. Please do inform the gentleman, that i would like to restore the car and have it running on the streets and not use it as a donor car. I really like this shape and have been looking for a restoration project of the same.

This is a Fiat 126 from the 1970's. This car was also made in Poland as the Fiat 126 P and in Yugoslavia as the Zastava 126. Its mechanical underpinnings and layout was akin to its rear-engined predecessor, the Fiat 500, with which it shared its wheelbase.
In Poland it is called "Maluch", which literally means "small one" or toddler.

A few images of what looks like Italian Registered Lambretta's lying in a sorry state at Mazgaon docks. Have no information on why and from when they are lying there. Looks like there could be at least 40 of these that have disintegrated.

Feel sorry for these lamby's. They indeed are in a very sorry state.
Many people would be ready to pay good money just to get the parts from these scooters!

: I guess the concerned departments should auction off such vehicles after a certain number of years. It would be great for enthusiasts who would be able to lay their hands on such machines.

Aaaha! finally we see some actual proof. I had been hearing from a lot of people about scooters being imported into India and I could not believe it and now here's the proof. Finally the reverse tide has begun! Scooter prices were spiralling upwards to such a level that this had to happen.

Incidentally that's a SX200 the most desirable of the lambrettas, if there is ever an auction I shall be attending. :-)

Could you spread some more info on this please? Any idea on which year were these imported. These were used ones, and a few had tyres of Thailand make.

These are 60's lambrettas and vespas. These models were never produced in India. Hence quite rare here. The going price for a SX200 in the indian market is 2.5 lakhs. Hence I feel this may be a new lucrative opportunity for people who were earlier exporting these things out of India.

It looks like these poor old mopeds have travelled further by boat than on the road! New in Italy, sent to Vietnem second hand and finally on to India to rust away unused and unloved. :-(
