Awaiting a restoration, for all you know.

These cars will probably rot away since they are without ownership and have been seized by the law enforcement. There are more cars there too, a couple of mercs amongst others.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

A good friend of mine found this 1100 Fiat abandoned in Munnar, near a workshop. It still has some original spares and seems in good shape! Sad to see it in such a state though.

Dear glomus123 - your friend is very lucky, he has seen a gold mine. Please tell him to pick it up. If he wants any help, PM me.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

A few lovely vintages dying a slow death. However with the owner's 30 odd fully restored vintage car collection, I guess restoration plans are in store for these beauties as well.

More of the owner's collection: Link

Good to see the 4-door Herald again! Here's what it used to look like a decade ago:

And a couple of years ago:

Still looks complete but for the hubcaps and more rust on it!

The Vauxhall should be saved first, considering how fast they rust!

It ain't a Chevrolet at all!

'Tis a 1955 Dodge Kingsway. A common, and a very stylish car of the yesteryears. Looks restorable enough, I daresay?

Going by the sheet metal welding work on the doors, it was/is probably undergoing restoration.

These low-fin models are very desireable, no?

This one has an intact column shift mechanism. Quite possibly, the original six cylinder petrol mill is present.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

You know what, that's exactly what I told that garage fellow, but he was hell bent in making me believe it was Chevrolet. Anyways, it seems this one belongs to Kumaran Silks and the owner is keen on getting this restored. And hence not available for sale.

The car seems to be owned by the owner of Kenwood showroom, as on the other side of car, there are quite few Kenwood stickers placed.
Thanks to Pune climate as the car hasn't rusted much as it rusts in Mumbai.
Someone please rescue her.
Here are the pics:
Happened to come across these pics. after quite a while.
So anyone know what happened to this car lately? Is it still around? Maybe FINTAIL would know!

Incidentally, there's what looks like an S1 in the same colour sitting in the same way for ages, quite close to my current home! But fortunately it has all its fittings untouched, maybe because it's parked in front of a house (possibly owners') but under a tree.

What would you expect? Of course it is not there.

Coincidentally, we have MTJ/476, which is still in its original Natina Blue. The car is in an excellent state of preservation, and has the number in the exact same style as compared to the maroon President in question.

Then there was MTJ/5281, again Natina Blue. Battered, though.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

Fintail, It's not a Dodge Kingsway but its an elder cousin Desoto from Chrysler. They were basically an older version of Dodge Kingsway and Plymouth Savoy but they didnt carry Fins at their tails.. Opps, not Fintails!!

Pardon the contradiction- It is not a DeSoto Deluxe/Diplomat. It is very much a Dodge Kingsway, a low-fin one at that.

Most of us here know KLK/923. A certain person has really restored her well. Just look at the side profile.

I'll be happy, if the Delight manages to even get close to this.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

Finntail, my bad. You are correct buddy. After rechecking the pics, I figured out that the bonnet centerline, it does define a Dodge Kingsway. Desotos and Plymouth didn't have them..they were curvy.
