Re: Restoring a 1995 Maruti 800 - Mission Impossible being made Possible

Fantastic restoration work, and reading through made me my own journey with Maruti 800 of 1995 make.
I had bought it and still use it for short distances. I got three fitness certificates after 15,20 ad 25 years.
One kid recently came and asked curiously if this car is working and asking many doubts. Keeping this car in working conditions has become my favorite pastime.I had once clutch plate and structural member failure, which was the biggest repair. But mine wiper structure is broken and I too am running without wipers. But the car is working condition and I enjoy driving it like go-cart. In my family only me and my daughter can drive this. I insisted her practicing in this car and taking DL without middlemen. In first five years we had number of trips filled with kids. Those days we could part anywhere on MG road or any part. I will take few tips for from this thread. Anyway once again congratulation and wonderful thread

It's the thread like these which keep us hooked to team-bhp. Can't wait to see uncle's reaction on seeing his new car.

Re: Restoring a 1995 Maruti 800 - Mission Impossible being made Possible

Congratulations sir for the restoration. This thread will serve as an encyclopaedia for my SB when I will send her for restoration as almost all the body panels have different shades of white cause of improper paint matching and body needs care in many spots rusting. Of all the restoration threads, this one aptly exhibits the true PITA and struggles old cars face with rusting.

Wishing you and your friend happy and safe drives.

Here are the pics of my 1995 SB308.
She was there when i was 3. I literally grew up in it. She was there when i got married. She was there when my Son was born. I'm never letting her go ♥️

That's one amazing piece of restoration! It brings back fond memories of our own Maruti 800. It was one of the same models - manufactured in 1997 and yes, it came sans an air conditioner. It was a fun little car to drive. I wish you all the best with this one and may you enjoy driving it for many more years to come! I am looking forward for more pictures, especially of the interior!

Fantastic Restoration. I am one among the many people who felt this was impossible to restore looking at the initial pictures.

The results are amazing and wishing you happy miles ahead.

Re: Restoring a 1995 Maruti 800 - Mission Impossible being made Possible

Once upon a time this was a Dream car for lot of Indians.
Dad cancelled his booking and instead booked Sipani which actually never came.
A decade later our first car became an 800
After going through your post yesterday I travelled back in time in my memories and living those wonderful days with our Oldie which must be someone's delight as we speak.
Today morning while coming to office I came across another superb M800, very well maintained rather very tastefully modified with Air Duct, beautiful spoiler, RS Sticker on back and few more stickers here and there. The best part was that car was actually doing well as far as city speeds are concerned and wasn't getting left behind any of the four wheelers that says a lot about its engine and power capabilities.

A big thumbs up to entire team for amazing restoration.
And wish you many beautiful miles with the car.

Fantastic and simply fantastic, Nikhil! I never realised I already follow you on Instagram and was thinking where have I seen this car today. Then I saw your photo in the end and it all fell in place.

A big kudos to the team as well, they did a meticulous job which not many would have pulled off. I wish your friend and his uncle countless memories of the car. Also If you take a video of surprising the uncle, please let us see it as well. I would love to see the reaction!

Thanks sir. I wanted the 800s keys be the first thing he ever held. Petrolheads need to be taught from the beginning 😍
