Correct. BE stood for BEnch seats and BU stood for BUcket seats. The seats and transmission were borrowed from the 118NE.

I think in the eighties it was there were 4 versions of the Padmini-Standard,Deluxe(with the bucket seats and seat belts) and the DeluxeBE(with the bench seats and the Economy version with painted bumpers,non chrome and rear windshield beadings etc.
The 118NE transmission was introduced in the padmini only in the nineties
