The 12th Vintage and Classic car rally was held on the 13th and 14th of February 2010 in Jaipur. The rally was organised by Rajputana Automotive Sports Car Club.

13th February the cars were on display for the public and I had the opportunity to visit and click some photographs of the well maintained beauties. Today on the 14th the cars will be taking part in a rally and the prize distribution will be done in various categories.

There were more than 90 cars on display and the cars were categorised in 3.
1. VINTAGE : 1921-1940 : 28 CARS
2. CLASSIC : 1941-1960 : 43 CARS
3. MODERN CLASSIC : 1961-1990 : 20 CARS

I will post pictures as per the categories posting cars in a descending order with regards to their age. The eldest car should be posted first, should it?

DISCLAIMER : The information provided with each cars is as per the leaflet given by the organisers. Members may please point out the mistake if any and subsequently the mods may am mend the info if required.

It's an MDE regn., which would be Coimbatore. Unless it was in AP even before that.

Does this car's regn. say "Dharampur 15"?? That's real interesting because I know 2 Dharampur cars, both Standard Heralds, here in Hyderabad. The Raja of Dharampur (who was always based in Bangalore) is also said to have had a low-mileage Jaguar D or E type, which unfortunately is caught in a legal litigation with the rest of his property following his death, so not to be seen.

Great show, especially some very impressive display of classic American metal!



This car is not an Austin 11 hp, but a Austin A40 Devon. The interiors are absolutely original, probably the paint shade and the pilot lamps (below the headlamps) are not stock.

Is the "11 hp" name in reference to the engine size terms of old days (100 cc equals 1 hp)? Even then this car should be called 12 hp, as it comes with a 1200 cc engine.



Thank you for clarifying what the above car is. Karl had put up a pic of it some months back in another thread and asked for identification. He later correctly guessed it to be a Willys. I had no clue about it.

Wow, nice to see a Standard 10 (Pennant) up north! That too a complete one! These cars are otherwise quite rare in those parts of the country.

The '63 Herald RSL 342 was owned by a team bhpian Vikas (ID: Love_Herald) and was red in colour with beige upholstery. It seems to have changed hands now, which is probably why he is not seen on the forum now. The car looked (IMHO) much nicer then.

The 1936 Mercedes owned by Vikram Singh is a stunner. Anyone have more pics of the car?. As a fan of 50's and 60's cars this thread has given me lots of pleasure. Thanx for sharing.
