My first ever post in the vintage section !! I totally do not belong here

On a recent trip to Rajasthan I chanced upon this awesome gallery which happened to be just opposite to the guest house I was staying in. Entry fee Rs.100/- for which I got a mango drink and a good tour of the cars by the guy in charge. He seemed to know quite a bit, and was a nice chap. Wish I had taken a picture.

You guys will know more than me, so I'm only going to put up pictures.

I have also been to Udaipur & shot almost all the vintage cars. Though was not sure if i can post them as i dont have the permission. May be if it is allowed I will also want to add.

Seems the Maharana of Udaipur's vintage car collection is getting a lot of attention. I went there last week and took snaps and filmed on HD.

I focussed more on the Rolls Royces, especially the blue 1924 RR.

The name of the guide is Manoj Kumar.

There are other posts too, in the travelogue section, I think, where you'll see lots of pics.

A pity his collection didn't have any Italian ( read Isotta Fraschini, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Maserati) or French ( read Delahaye,Bugatti, Delage, Voisin) or slighly esoteric American ( read Pierce Arrow, Peerless, Duesenburg ) or Packards.

Note :

I'm sorry to make this thread an incredibly dry and boring one, with just an onslaught of pictures and nothing else, but honestly, I'm not that much into vintage cars (although this collection fascinated me) but I thought it might be a good post here, so I went clickety click.

The chap did tell me a few interesting things about the cars, including history, which car was used for what movie, which one went to pick up Queen Elizabeth, one had a Straight Eight engine, yet another had the Clutch-Accelerator-Brake arrangement (instead of C-B-A). Can't really remember which was for what car.

I'm new to this place. Stepped here for the first time after 1500 posts in other sections !! Please overlook / rectify any errors on my part.

That said, there are about 50 odd pictures more. I'm tired of resizing and uploading for now. I hope you vintage car fellows like this thread.

Really? I didn't even know this gallery existed. I chanced upon it, as I mentioned in my opening post. Was touring around Rajasthan. I was there in the first week of Feb.

The name of the guide is Manoj Kumar.
