Just came home from the Impromptu Classic Drive that we had today. Was a nice drive considering it was organised yesterday. I have a few Pics.

The cars present were:

Kasli and Speedy's Packard Clipper
A very nice Petrol 180 Ponton
MOle's 190 D Ponton
A lovely DeSoto
Randomusername's VW Beetle and MIcrobus
SuperSelect's SuperSelect
My 88 Padmini.

HAve very few pictures, but here they are.

It was a lovely drive with our beauties. 8 cars turned up for the drive and we did have a Porsche 956 that joined in for a small bit on Marine drive and then returned to its garage. The driver told us he would inform the owner of our drives and would join in the next drive. We also met freddie an owner of a 1979 Honda CB250 and he too along with his biker friends would join in for the drives.

Danesh's 190 Ponton is a true beauty and the love for the car is clearly seen in the way he has kept it and restored it. The smell of the leather is as though she has just rolled out of the factory.

Yash's Desoto is still in original paint, apholstry and wireing. Looks like a million bucks even today.

Randomusernames Beetle and the Microbus are wonderfull, they had their charm and the bettle you could just stare at for hours at end. Now this burns a new fire to have my beetle ready, if not for anything else to get her for the drives.

Superselct's Superselect is a real eyecatcher. The colour scheeme and the way she purs is a delight.

Cyrus and his red monster. Sure did turn heads but for the wrong reasons. Zip Zap Zoom was his moto for the day. I guess the F1 race was to blame.

Amol and the 180d what to say. The car is fantastic, It is a diesel but can fool anyone to think it is a petrol. Very silent and the grace both the Pontons carried is unmatchable. Both Danesh and Amols Mercedes have made me a big fan of the Pontons.

This was a good start for the drives and i am sure the numbers would grow as we go along and the awareness is spread. We did have a discussion on the number of times we should meet and twice a month was decided upon. I am ok with it but we need everyones approval.

I just zipped own MArine drive so that I could take the Video!! :D :D

My pictures from the drive :D

Had a great morning, in the company of some fantastic classics.
We met at the Bandra Sea link at 8.30 am sharp.. Drove flat out to Nariman Point. Stopped for pictures, and drove straight back.
Hope we can make this a regular feature, and hope our numbers grow :). Thanks guys, for being there with your lovely rides !

Nice pics! My favorite Fiats looking neat! Any more Fiats?

Wonderful pics guys, theres nothing like having a drive early in the morning with less traffic around. Sorry for not making it, next time early intimation would be helpful for us. Do let us know in advance.

Just love the way both the Pontons look. Amol, the more pictures I see of your car the more I like the paint you've chosen. I think the soft metallic hues really bring out the best in your car. Glad to see you got the muck of the whitewalls:D. It's sad that there isn't a single road worthy Ponton in Kolkata to my knowledge. Really happy that the Bombay Classic car owner's are enjoying driving the cars; I am sure that the next time you all meet the number of cars attending will grow.

Was 356 Porsche also part of the drive, can we have more pictures of her.

Thats great viewing. Great pictures kasli.Few cars turned up but each one is a gem.Liked the Packard at its best. The Merc Pontons too pamper the eyes.
The De Soto, VW's and Fiats are well maintained.

The Porsche just happened to be there on Marine Drive, and drove along with us for a distance - great car, great photo-op !
Similarly, at the start of the sea link, a huge American convertible crossed us from the opposite side, and the driver waved to us as he passed.
Early sunday morning is classic car time for most, I guess.
