Prithvi, Well thats news I thought Mr Sanjoy Ghosh only owned my WBF 14, I had no idea a P4 was in his collection too. Lot of Rovers are leaving Kolkata though.

See the P4 in Goa has the right colour for your Ponton, it will stand out.

Here is the car spotted in Goa, must be a new entry into Goa. But a very attractive car indeed.

Amol,

Agree the colour is good. It's a strong candidate for being the colour of my car. I was thinking black body and this green colour for the top.

Correct this car came to Bangalore from Kolkata. In Bangalore it changed hands before going to Goa. The current owner is based in Goa and is a young enthusiast who has collected quite a few cars from around Bangalore in the very recent past.

Cheers

Re: Vintage and Classic Rovers

If I am right the green car was originally black. Belonged to a Doctor who came from Bahrain (when it was under British Rule). The DOctor died last year

Another P5 from Kolkata, this is also likely to be a Mk1A from the appearance of the quarter glass. If i am not mistaken this car has "Ro" style wheels.

Re: Vintage and Classic Rovers

Another P5 makes an appearance in the classifieds. Looks similar to another WB# car which was on sale some time ago. Any clues where she is located?

This place looks like the place where Mr. Sandeep Katari has his workshop in Delhi. Mr. Naresh Ojha who is a prominent collector of Delhi, has brother in calcutta who has a P5 rover. Probably the same car. Which classifieds was she advertised on ?

I didn't notice this before - think they are the same car!

Gosh, my eyes are really playing up. This one now is indeed the one! Green in Madras, to black in Delhi. And now, as per your post, up for sale again.

Re: Vintage and Classic Rovers

A week ago a friend of MBZ180 mentioned that his father owned a 3.5 litre Rover P5B registered WBA1424 the car was supposedly scrapped in the late 70's in Kolkata. A pity! However this friend promises to post pictures of the car when she was alive and kicking.

Prithvi can you remind him.

Not doubting, but something looks strange to me here - The Rover P5B was introduced in the late 60s and this one was scrapped within a decade?! Secondly, WBA is a very early registration series for such a car (and that too with the numeric part being 1424), unless she was re-registered from another number, from within or outside the state.

In Calcutta there is one car that is owned by Mr. Arnab Basu. This car is a regular participant in the vintage car rally.

There was another car that was owned by Mr.Sarojesh Chandra Mukerjee. Haven't seen the car lately.

There is a green one in Pune that is owned by Mr.Amulya Dhanukar. The car was pretty much intact. It was missing a starter or a dynamo. Don't remember exactly. Have pics of that car but cannot upload them.
