2017 Kawasaki Z900 launched in India at Rs. 9 lakh

Kawasaki has launched the 2017 Z900 in India at a price of Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike was globally unveiled at the 2016 EICMA motor show as a replacement for the Z800. Kawasaki will be bringing it to India through the CBU route.

The overall design language of the Z900 is an evolution to that of the Z800. It still has a split headlamp setup at the front, though it is a bit more prominent on the new model. The side profile features a snooping front end, sharp fuel tank extensions, an exposed trellis frame and a higher tail. Rear gets the characteristic Z-shaped LED tail lights.

Powering the Z900 is a 948 cc, liquid cooled, inline-4 cylinder engine that churns out 123 BHP, which marks a bump of around 12 BHP as compared to the Z800. The transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheels through a chain drive mechanism.

Suspension setup on the 2017 Kawasaki Z900 includes 41 mm inverted forks at the front and a monoshock with horizontal back-link, stepless rebound damping and adjustable spring preload. The Z900 comes with 300 mm dual disc brake with four-piston calipers at the front and 250 mm disc with a single piston caliper at the rear. Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is offered as standard with the Z900.
