ABS and check engine light on my Himalayan: Service centre's response

I was told that the motorcycle must have fallen down damaging a couple of parts which resulted in this problem.

BHPian Sumit19629 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Dear Riders,

I trust you are all doing well. The information I am sharing with you is to bring to your kind attention and knowledge how things can get pretty nasty and why RE would not pay attention or intervene.

On 21st October 2023, I took my 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan to a dealership in Dwarka, New Delhi to address the issue of ABS light and MIL light. This must be around 1100 hours in the morning.

In the evening, I got a call that the motorcycle was ready for pickup. I go there and I ask the engineer what the issue is. Did you reset the ECU and did you test the motorcycle on the road before closing this job? So he took the motorcycle for a ride and the error was back.

So he told me to sit and after a few minutes he called me and said that the cable was damaged and hence it had to be replaced. I said ok, but this damage as I could see had come from the exhausts which is why the cable clip was damaged, but apart from abrasion I don't see any other damage.

However, the engineer told me that the bike must have fallen down and hence, the clip and cable came in contact with the exhaust which resulted in this problem. Not agreeing with him, and because I had my daughter with I thought let's pay and I would deal with them later.

Later, when I came home, I filed a complaint with RE. The email response has been attached.

Please have a look at the image and let me know your deduction. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
