Ashok Leyland gets order worth $ 200 mn from Cote D'Ivoire

Ashok Leyland has signed a contract with the government of Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) for the supply of 3,600 vehicles. This order is worth $ 200 million. The contract is being funded by EXIM Bank of India and is pending final clearance from the respective governments.

The vehicles, which include trucks and buses, will be delivered over the next 12 months. This is the largest contract for Ivory Coast with any firm in India. It is also the largest such contract till date for Ashok Leyland.

The company is planning to build this as a base for further growth in West Africa.
