Aston Martin and Red Bull unveil AM-RB 001 hypercar

Aston Martin along with Red Bull Racing have unveiled a new hypercar which has been codenamed the AM-RB 001. The company claims that the AM-RB 001 has been designed as a road-going car that can sprint like an F1 race car on the track.

The AM-RB 001 would be powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated V12 engine. Though official specifications haven't yet been revealed, Aston claims that the car will have a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1 (1 BHP per kilo of weight).

The new hyper car is built on a lightweight carbon fibre structure, while the body panels have been shaped to optimize aerodynamics. Insights have been taken from the F1 cars in order to ensure that the AM-RB 001 is able to handle the power it develops.

This new hyper car will be built at Aston Martin's manufacturing facility in Gaydon, UK, while deliveries will commence from 2018. The AM-RB 001 will be manufactured in limited numbers between 99 and 150, including the prototype models. Moreover, 25 models will be dedicatedly built for track use.
