Auto Expo 2023: Maruti Suzuki Fronx (Baleno Cross) debuts

The Maruti Fronx shares its underpinnings with the Baleno and comes with a 1.0L turbo-petrol engine.

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the Fronx crossover at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023. Bookings are now open.

The Maruti Fronx is based on the Heartect platform. It measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and 1,550 mm in height, and its wheelbase is 2,520 mm. 

The Fronx has a Grand Vitara-inspired front fascia with a large grille flanked by LED daytime running lights. The front bumper house triple-pod LED headlights are housed inside triangular pods. The square-ish fenders get black plastic cladding that adds a rugged look. The rear features slim LED tail lights with a light bar and a silver skid plate.

The Fronx gets a dual-tone interior with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, 6-airbags, cruise control, a 360-degree camera heads-up display and over 40 connected car features.

The Maruti Fronx will be available with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 99 BHP and 147 Nm and a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 89 BHP and 113 Nm. Customers will get a choice of a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic and an AMT.
