Buddh International Circuit to house migrant workers

According to a media report, the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida will house migrant workers who have been trying to leave Delhi-NCR during the lockdown implemented due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

It has been reported that the district magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar has invoked special powers under the Disaster Management Act to designate the Formula 1 race track as a shelter home for migrant workers.

The district magistrate has also ordered the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority to construct makeshift shelters. However, the report states that the migrant workers will not be allowed in the core area of the F1 circuit.

Earlier this year, the Yamuna Expressway Authorities had taken over and sealed the Formula 1 circuit over pending land dues.
