Chevrolet Cruze recalled in India; 2009-11 models affected

General Motors India has announced a voluntary recall for the Chevrolet Cruze that affects all models manufactured between 2009 and 2011. The recall has been initiated after some vehicles in this batch experienced loss of ignition or engine stall at low vehicle speeds.

Chevrolet dealers across the country will ask the owners of affected vehicles to bring their cars to the nearest service station. The company claims that the inspection, repairs and replacement, as per requirement, will be done within a time span of one hour. The American manufacturer is also working with its dealerships to ensure to offer the facility of pick up and drop the car from a residential address in major cities.

The company has also requested its customers to contact the nearest Chevrolet service station and fix an appointment for vehicle inspection and issue rectification. All inspection, repair and replacement will be done free of cost for the customer at all GM India service centres in the country.
