Citroen C3 Aircross fails the Latin NCAP crash test

The car scored 13.20 points for adult occupant safety and 5.57 points for child occupant protection.

The Citroen C3 Aircross has been awarded a zero-star rating by Latin NCAP. The car scored 13.20 points for adult occupant safety and 5.57 points for child occupant protection.

The C3 Aircross offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger in the frontal impact test. Driver’s chest showed marginal protection and passenger’s chest showed weak protection. Driver and Passenger’s knees showed marginal protection, while the left and right tibias showed adequate and good protection, respectively.

In the side impact test, the head, abdomen and pelvis protection was good, while chest protection was adequate. The side pole impact test was not performed on the vehicle. The seat offered poor protection for the adult neck in the whiplash test.

The child seat for the 3-year-old child was capable of preventing head exposure and offered good protection. The child seat for the 1.5-year-old also offered almost full protection during the crash test. While both child restraint systems (CRS) offered full protection during the side impact test, most of the CRSs tested for installation failed.

Stellantis India issued a statement regarding the C3 Aircross and its recent Latin NCAP results. The spokesperson said, "At Stellantis, we remain dedicated to offering customers clean, safe, and affordable mobility with products that fulfil the most stringent regulations across the world. In India, the safety of our customers is at the core of everything we do. Our vehicles come with six airbags, ISOFIX, and a rear seatbelt reminder across the entire lineup. The newly launched Citroën Basalt, with its 4-star Bharat NCAP rating, exemplifies this commitment to safety, innovation, and engineering excellence.

We take pride in delivering vehicles that combine safety, performance, and advanced features, tailored for Indian consumers. Every vehicle we develop in India reflects our deep understanding of local needs and aspirations, designed independently to meet the country’s unique regulations and priorities.”
