Driving my MG Hector AT: Highlighting 3 pros & 3 cons after 3 months

It has good control when it comes to rough roads and climbing up/down on steep slopes.

BHPian abhypras recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I have been driving the new Hector Petrol Automatic for almost 3 months now. Few things that I would like to point out:

Positives

  1. Driving quality is very good. It gives a decent power to drive.
  2. It gives decent control at high speeds. We went to Mahabaleshwar immediately after the delivery and the response was very good on highways and internal roads.
  3. Recently did a small off-roading by driving on the under-construction Samruddhi Highway and it fared very well. It has good control when it comes to rough roads and climbing up/down on steep slopes.

Negatives

  1. The infotainment system is very much attractive. Everyone who sees my car for the 1st time is impressed by the large screen. However, the response is something that MG needs to look into. The response is very poor when you have your phone connected through the Carplay mode.
  2. Auto turn-on indicators are a nuisance at times esp in the ghats section.
  3. MAPPLS is not at all reliable. At times the maps do not download or they show you incorrect route maps. Better rely on Google Maps.
