Ford launches Ka hatchback (next-gen Figo) in Brazil

Ford has launched the Ka hatchback in Brazil. It is available in two variants SE and SEL, which are priced at Brazilian Real 35,390 (approximately Rs. 9.52 lakh) and Brazilan Real 39,990 (approximately Rs. 10.76 lakh) respectively.

The Ka, which is expected to be launched as the next generation Figo in India in 2015, uses Ford's new design philosophy with an Aston Martin-like, trapezoidal front grille. The car has swept-back headlamps, forward-pointing wrap-around tail lamps.

The interior theme of the Ka is also similar to that of modern Fords like the Fiesta and EcoSport. The Ka comes equipped with features such as electric power steering, power windows, tilt adjustable steering, music system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, Ford SYNC, voice control, multi-functional steering wheel, height adjustable driver's seat and 15-inch alloy wheels, depending upon the variant.

The Ka has been launched with just one engine - a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit, capable of producing 85 bhp and 105 Nm of torque.

In India, Ford will build the Ka as the next-gen Figo at its plant at Sanand in Gujarat.
