Harley-Davidson rolls out smaller store for tier III cities

Harley-Davidson has inaugurated its first concept store in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The company plans to open more such outlets in Tier II and Tier III cities. The concept stores are expected to cater to sales and service requirements of customers in smaller cities.

Located at Mokshaa Motorbike Company Private Ltd. 1 / B 2 NH 4 A / P Sarnobatwadi, Taluka - Karveer, Kolhapur, "Warrior Harley-Davidson", as the concept store in Kolhapur is called, is spread over an area of 3,000 sq. ft. It houses a bike display, customer lounge and service facility. It is expected to serve the 100 or so Harley owners from in and around Kolhapur who otherwise had to ship their bikes to Pune or Goa for a service.

By expanding its network in Tier II and Tier III cities, Harley-Davidson expects to achieve further growth in India.

Harley-Davidson is not the only brand that has employed this strategy though. Royal Enfield, Piaggio and Yamaha have already opened similar concept stores, lifestyle outlets or boutique stores in select cities.
