Japan: Next-gen Suzuki WagonR to debut in Dec 2021

The Japanese version of the WagonR is different from the hatchback that is sold in India.

According to a media report, the seventh-generation Suzuki WagonR could debut in Japan in December 2021.

The Japanese version of the WagonR is different from the hatchback that is sold in India. It is designed to comply with Kei car regulations. The new model is expected to feature a redesigned exterior while retaining its boxy appearance.

Under the bonnet, the WagonR will use a R06D 3-cylinder engine featuring cooled EGR and rapid combustion systems. The mild-hybrid version is also expected to receive some updates. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
