Jeep has released a teaser image of the Compass Night Eagle on its social media channels. It is likely to be launched in the near future.

According to media reports, the Night Eagle is a special edition of the Compass. It will be based on the Longitude Plus trim and will get an all-black exterior with a gloss black grille and black 18-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Night Eagle is said to get 'techno' part-leather seat upholstery and gloss black trim on the dashboard. It could come with the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and dual-zone automatic climate control among other features.

Reports suggest that the Compass Night Eagle will be offered petrol and diesel engine options. These include a 1.4-litre, turbo-petrol unit producing 161 BHP and 250 Nm and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that produces 170 BHP and 350 Nm. The petrol engine will be offered with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel will get a 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic option. All-wheel drive will be available with the diesel engine.

The Compass Night Eagle will compete with the Tata Harrier Dark Edition in the Indian market.
