India Kawasaki Motor has added another product to its portfolio with the launch of the Versys 1000 motorcycle.
The Versys 1000 is an Adventure Tourer with an aluminium twin-tube frame, a 43 mm, inverted fork suspension at the front and a horizontal back-link suspension at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 120/70 and 180/55 section tyres at the front and rear respectively. It weighs 249 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 21 litres.
The Versys 1000 is powered by a 1,043 cc, liquid-cooled, in-line 4-cylinder engine that puts out close to 120 bhp and 102 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with 310 mm dual petal discs at the front and a single 250 mm petal disc at the rear.
Kawasaki has equipped the Versys 1000 with safety features such as ABS and traction control.
The bike is imported as a CBU and priced at Rs. 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
