Kia Carens facelift spied testing in South Korea

A pure-electric version of the Carens is also said to be under development.

The Kia Carens is due for a mid-life facelift next year. As you would have imagined, the carmaker has already started work on the updated Carens. The test prototype was recently spotted in the brand’s home market of South Korea.

The camouflaged test mule hints at several cosmetic changes. Starting with the front, the Carens is likely to get a revised fascia but will retain its split headlamp design. At the rear, taillights appear to be inspired by those on the current Seltos.

The interior could receive less significant updates including new seat upholstery and a couple of new features.

In India, the Carens facelift is expected to retain the current set of engines. These include the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.

A pure-electric version of the Carens is also said to be under development. It is expected to be launched in 2025 alongside the facelift version.
