Kia is now the 5th largest car brand in India

Kia sold 12,850 units of the Seltos in October 2019, making it the fifth largest brand in India in terms of sales volumes. The carmaker registered a month-on-month growth of 65.72%.

Following the launch of the Seltos in August this year, Kia is said to have received more than 50,000 bookings for the SUV in just two and a half months. On the first day of bookings, the carmaker had received over 6,000 orders.

Kia is reportedly working on a compact SUV that is expected to be based on the Hyundai Venue. Its launch could see Kia's market share grow even further.

Maruti remains at the top spot with 1,39,121 units. Hyundai sold 50,010 units in October 2019, which places it in second place, while Mahindra (18,460 units) and Tata (13,169 units) are in third and fourth place respectively.
