Pierer Mobility, the parent company of KTM, has confirmed that it is working on an all-electric motorcycle called the E-Duke. The battery-powered motorcycle is expected to share its internals with the Husqvarna E-Pilen.
As the name suggests, the electric motorcycle will be based on KTM's Duke range of streetfighter offerings. Reports suggest that the KTM E-Duke will come with a fixed 5.5 kWh battery pack. The electric powertrain on the E-Duke is expected to produce 10 kW (13.4 BHP) of nominal power, making it comparable to the brand's entry-level 125 Duke in terms of performance. The E-Duke could also offer a range of 100 km on a full charge, although KTM is yet to confirm any of the specifications.
The reports also suggest that the electric motorcycle could carry forward a sharp and aggressive design, in line with KTM's Duke range. The E-Duke could borrow its suspension, frame and brakes from the Husqvarna E-Pilen, which is expected to make its global debut sometime later this year.
KTM is yet to confirm the unveil date of its upcoming electric motorcycle.
