KTM RC 250 caught testing in Pune

KTM might offer the fully-faired version of the Duke 250 in India. A test mule of the KTM RC 250 was recently spotted near Pune.

The latest spy images indicate that the KTM RC 250 will be offered with a similar fairing as the RC 390. The bike is painted in a familiar orange, white and black color scheme. The trellis frame on the test bike is painted black, while the alloy wheels are painted in orange. The body graphics are similar to the RC 200 but instead of an under-body exhaust, the RC 250 gets a side-mounted muffler.

The KTM RC 250 will likely be offered with the same 248.8cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine as the 250 Duke. This engine produces 29.5 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. It does not have ride-by-wire like the RC 390.

The bike rides on 43 mm upside-down front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a single 300-mm disc in the front and a 230-mm rear disc. In the international market, the RC 250 is available with ABS and a slipper clutch. The features available on the Indian variant are not yet known.
