Mahindra & Ford to share powertrains, connected car solutions

Mahindra and Ford have signed two agreements that pave the way for both carmakers to share powertrains and connected car solutions.

As part of the new agreement, Mahindra will develop and supply a low-displacement, BS-VI compliant petrol engine to Ford. From 2020, this engine will be offered on its current as well as future models.

Both companies will jointly develop a suite of connected car solutions, including a telematics control unit. These features will be available across both Mahindra and Ford vehicles in the future.

Earlier this year, the two companies had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop two new SUVs and a small electric car.
