Mahindra launches Blazo X range of HCVs

Mahindra has introduced the Blazo X range of heavy commercial vehicles (HCV). The Blazo X range is essentially an update to the Blazo range of trucks. It gets an improved air management system and rolling characteristics and redesigned rotating parts. Mahindra claims that these improve fuel efficiency.

The Blazo X series is available for haulage, tractor-trailer and tipper applications. The trucks are powered by a 7.2-litre mPower turbocharged diesel engine equipped with Mahindra's FUELSMART technology. This engine produces 270 BHP @ 2,200 rpm and 950 Nm of torque @ 1,100-1,700 rpm. The Blazo X 25 has similar power and torque outputs, but peak torque is available between 1,200-1,600 rpm.

Mahindra has also announced the launch of its North-South Service Corridor. It stretches 3,800 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and has 41 service touchpoints - one service centre every 100 km. The company is offering a guaranteed service reach of 4 hours or Rs. 500 compensation for every hour of delay. Mahindra has already set up a similar service corridor on the Mumbai-Delhi section.
