More images: Hyundai Santa Fe facelift spied!

A test mule of the refreshed Hyundai Santa Fe was caught on test earlier this year in South Korea. The car caught in the images was heavily camouflaged and indicated a small amount of cosmetic alterations. Now, fresh images of the SUV have emerged with the interior spied as well.

The exterior of the test mule in the images is still camouflaged, but gives away a few key details. The SUV will get reworked bumpers, restyled tail lamp internals and the test mule wears a contrasting black roof as well, though it can’t be confirmed if that will feature on the final production model.

On the inside, apart from the silver accented all black interiors, the facelift gets a larger touchscreen infotainment system, new controls in the centre console and a glossy finish to the centre console as well.

Powertrain options are unlikely to change, but reports suggest the possibility of updates to improve the efficiency figures. Hyundai is reportedly working on a hybrid version Santa Fe as well. It will feature a petrol engine to power its front wheels and an electric motor for the rear wheels. Hyundai calls the technology e-4WD. However, even if the Santa Fe gets the hybrid system in global markets, it is highly unlikely to be offered in India as the market for it is far from lucrative.

In India, the current version of the Santa Fe uses a 2.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 194 bhp @ 3800 rpm and 421 Nm of torque @ 1800-2500 rpm (436 Nm @ 1800-2500 rpm for the A/T). Prices currently range from Rs. 26.66 Lakh – 29.95 Lakh ex-Delhi.
