Mumbai: Ridlr launches mobile ticketing on all BEST routes

In an effort to provide cashless payment facility for public transport users, Ridlr has launched a mobile ticketing service for all 4,000 BEST buses plying across 365 routes in Mumbai. These buses ferry 3 million commuters in the city. The facility was previously available only for AC buses and had received positive response.

As an introductory offer, Ridlr has introduced a scheme, wherein, starting from December 10, the first 10,000 travellers using the Ridlr smartphone app will get a free week of travel, receiving credit worth up to Rs. 100. This offer has been introduced to motivate commuters to go cashless while travelling on BEST buses.

With the Ridlr app, in addition to booking tickets, consumers can also renew and buy daily and monthly passes. The app is currently available only for Android devices on the Google Play Store.

Ridlr is a Mumbai-based app-based firm that was founded in 2009. It deals in the public transport space. The company is backed by Times Internet, Matrix Partners and Qualcomm Ventures.
