My Mitsubishi Pajero Sport gets rear-ended by a rickshaw

The service station is quoting me Rs 35,000 to get the SUV's tail lamp assembly repaired.

BHPian chaoticTwist recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Didn't think this would be my first proper thread on team-bhp. I was in the middle of compiling some long-term-ownership threads about my cars, but it seems life had different plans.

Moved back to Bengaluru recently, after a year-long work from a home stint at my parent's place. Had loaded all my stuff into the Pajero and a trusted driver to drive it while I flew back to the city.

Well, this city welcomed my car in the true Bangalorean fashion - it got rear-ended by an auto-rickshaw (being driven by an inebriated driver) while it was parked on the side of the road barely a couple of km from the destination.

Damage seems to be limited to the tail light and the rear panel.

I went to the SVR Motors in Bommanahalli, and they're quoting 35k for the fix. Also reached out to Trend Automobiles, but he's having trouble sourcing the tail-lamp assembly.

Now, looking for options on where I can get this fixed. Any Pajero owners in Bengaluru who can suggest some good FNGs around?

Here's what BHPian MinivanDriver had to say on the matter:

Try and see if you can source the tail lamp yourself from importers. If you are successful in that, then the overall cost would come down.

Here's what BHPian Klub Class had to say on the matter:

Lumax sells aftermarket tail lamps for Pajero Sport. I'm attaching the part numbers below (I believe part number 7 is what you need. But please confirm before buying). Try contacting the nearby car parts store or Lumax reseller and see if they can arrange it. The part is available for order on IndustryBuying, PartsBigBoss and Boodmo.

Also, you can try sourcing used tail lamps from a nearby scrapyard or reputed online sellers like Kahlon Motors. This will be a quicker option.

Alternatively, you can ask for leads in the POCIN Facebook group (Pajero Owners Club India). There are many active Pajero Sport owners and parts sellers in the group.
