Nissan India launches Evalia Refresh

Nissan India has launched the refreshed version of the Evalia MPV. The 2013 Evalia gets a new XV-S variant, which sits at the top of the variant line up and that comes with a range of new features. The Nissan Evalia XV-S variant is priced at 10.73 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi. The changes on the Evalia remain limited to the additional features that have been added through this refresh  while the engine and transmission remain the same. The Evalia continues to be powered by the 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine (85 PS-200 Nm) mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.

The engine drives the front wheels of the MPV, a factor that gives the Evalia a decent ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 19.3 Kmpl, which is much higher than what the MPV's rear wheel driven competitors such as the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra Xylo manage to deliver. Coming to the new features offered on the updated Evalia, all features except for the roof mounted AC vents are factory fitted. The roof mounted AC vents are a dealer fitment. Here are the other new features available on the top-end XV-S variant of the Evalia MPV:

  • 15 inch alloy wheels
  • Sliding windows for the second row
  • Sliding and reclining captain seats on the middle row
  • Glove box with cover
  • 2-DIN audio system with USB connectivity
  • Front row assist grips
  • Rear wiper and defogger
  • Anti-glare internal rear view mirror

All variants of the Evalia MPV are available with ABS+EBD as standard while twin airbags are offered on all but the base variant. Launched over a year ago, the MPV has been a slow selling model for Nissan, a major factor that has motivated the Japanese auto maker to take customer feedback seriously and roll out the updated version. The following represent the variant-wise, ex-showroom Delhi pricing of this MPV:

  • XE: 8.78 lakh rupees
  • XE+: 9.22 lakh rupees
  • XL: 9.8 lakh rupees
  • XL Option: 10.05 lakh rupees
  • XV: 10.48 lakh rupees
  • XV Option: 10.73 lakh rupees
