Renault Kwid Climber launched at Rs. 4.30 lakh

Renault has launched the Kwid Climber edition in India, which is basically a cosmetically enhanced iteration of the regular model. It is based on the Kwid 1.0 and is available only in the top-end RXT (O) trim. We had earlier reported that Renault had started dealer training for the Kwid Climber, which had verified its upcoming launch.

Cosmetic changes made on the Kwid Climber include a new bumper with larger fog lamp housings, orange ORVMs, silver bash plates with orange inserts on the front and rear bumpers, new six-spoke alloys, beefier cladding on the doors and wheel arches and Climber badges on the front doors and rear windshield. The Climber edition can be opted in three colours: Outback Bronze, Planet Grey and a new Electric Blue.

The interiors feature a layout which is similar to that of the regular Kwid. However, it gets some orange-coloured inserts around the centre console, AC vents, door pads and seat upholstery. The gear lever gets a dual-tone grey and orange treatment, while the steering wheel gets a 'Climber' insignia on the lower spoke.

No powertrain-related changes have been made to the Kwid Climber. Hence, it continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder SCe petrol engine that churns out 67 BHP and 91 Nm of torque. This engine can be opted with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

Prices (ex-showroom, Delhi)

• Kwid Climber 1.0 MT - Rs. 4,30,376
