Tata Altroz with turbo petrol engine spotted undisguised

A new image of the turbo petrol variant of the Tata Altroz has been spotted. For the first time, the test car has been seen without any camouflage.

The test car seen in this image has the 'Turbo' badge on the boot lid. The car is finished in a new shade of Blue, which was not offered on the Altroz at launch. Just like the regular Altroz, the turbo petrol version also has smoked tail lamps and a black rear fascia with the 'Altroz' lettering. The car is fitted with 4-spoke alloy wheels.

It has been reported that the Altroz could get a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine from the Nexon. The engine could be tuned to produce 99 BHP and 141 Nm and is likely to be offered with either a 5-speed manual or a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

At present, the Altroz is offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 85 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 3,300 rpm. A 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit that puts out 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1,250-3,000 rpm is also offered. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
