Took the Thar off-roading with a 4x4 Group: Pics & Experience

The last time I engaged 4x4 was a couple of months back, hence the experience going on the off-roading trail felt good.

BHPian Dr.AD recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Although I did plenty of road trips with Dusty in the last 2-3 months (documented in the previous posts in this thread), it had been a while since I engaged 4x4. It felt as if I had almost forgotten the car was 4x4.

Just when I was feeling bad about not having used the 4x4 capabilities in a while, our friend from a local 4x4 group, @karthikd21, arranged a small morning event with a couple of trails. That was a perfect opportunity for me to get back to 4x4 times, and I signed up happily.

Thanks to @karthikd21 for organizing this event, as well as for his immense knowledge of trails, locations, and offroading techniques. He not only chose a nice trail and planned everything, but he also gave a lot of useful tips on how to tackle that trail and helped everyone complete the trail without issues.

We had a total of 8 Thars in that group that day. Unfortunately, I do not know everyone's forum handle to mention all names here. Sorry about that.

When we reached the trail and first did a walk on the trail, it looked very challenging and intimidating. My first thought was that it was going to be crazy difficult. But with proper guidance from the experts in the group, we managed to do the trial without issues and had a lot of fun.

Since offroading events are quite "rough and tough" and objects in the car get tossed around everywhere, I usually do not carry my camera and lenses on such drives. Therefore, all the photos in this report were taken with my mobile phone, and many of them are from a distance away from the car tackling an obstacle. Please bear with me for the ordinary image quality.

As I have said in other travelogues too, I love landscapes and sunsets and sunrises, and even this time, when we first reached the trail, I saw a beautiful sunrise (it is always a good idea to start any driving event, on the road or off-road, before sunrise). I could not resist taking a photo of that sunrise through the trees and the thorny bushes on the trail, before photographing the 8 beautiful 4x4 Thars standing next.
