TVS Motors' new automatic scooter to be christened Jupiter?

Come September 16th, TVS Motors could launch an all new automatic scooter dubbed the Jupiter. According to Team-BHPian Rock75, the latest automatic scooter from TVS has already arrived at dealerships in Chandigarh. These new details suggest that the TVS Jupiter will be the new, flagship automatic scooter offering from TVS Motors, what with it being positioned above the Wego 110 in terms of price, size and features.

Test mules of the TVS Jupiter are a regular sight around TVS Motors' Hosur factory. Camouflaged test mules of the scooter have also been spotted numerous times in the cities of Bangalore and Chennai.  Spyshots of the TVS Jupiter have revealed that the dimensions of this scooter are larger than the Wego 110. However, the new scooter does have similarities with the Wego. Features such as a fuel filler inlet on the rear, front disc brake and telescopic front forks seem to be carried over from the Wego.

The fuel filler inlet situated on the rear of the Jupiter is a touch that many scooter buyers will appreciate as the usual rigmarole of dismounting a scooter to fuel up will not be required. Spyshots also reveal that the TVS Jupiter could feature 12 inch alloy wheels, a significant step up from the 10 inch units that most other automatic scooters in India come with. Larger wheels coupled to telescopic front suspension means that an automatic scooter will be more stable while negotiating broken road surfaces.

It remains to be seen whether the TVS Jupiter will borrow the 110 cc four stroke petrol engine from the Wego or whether the new scooter will make do with a more powerful 125 cc motor. Dimensions wise, the TVS Jupiter will compete with the likes of the Honda Aviator and the Suzuki Access 125, two automatic scooters that are aimed at men. While the Aviator is powered by a 110 cc four stroke engine, the Access makes do with a more powerful 125 cc unit.
