Hello Bhpians!
I got my RCD 340G Plus (with in built wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) delivered a couple of months back. It took me some time to find the time to install them. I finally installed them in the car successfully and everything is working fine.
Initially, I was sceptical if I would be able to install the camera myself but then realised that it was better to try to do it myself than let any inexperienced FNG do that for me. I had great help from the dealer who sold me the unit and with the information I received from him, I gave it a go and voila!
Installing the headunit was a straightforward job that took me only 15 minutes but the camera installation and routing the wires from the trunk to the fusebox and headunit took me some odd 1.5 hours.
For connection, I used a fuse tap to avoid any fire hazard or any damage resulting from a short circuit. A fuse tap basically adds another circuit so that one single fuse is not burdened with more load than it is meant to handle. I did not cut any wire for the reverse light connection. Simply inserted the camera wires in the tail light connector in the relevant positive and negative slots.
I may have used other tools but these are all I can remember at this moment. For anyone wondering, I purchased this made-in-Poland unit from Volkskod based in Kerala. They have this YouTube channel by the same name. They are active on Instagram as well.
P.S. I needed an additional ISO to Quadlock connector to use the unit because mine is a Comfortline variant which came with an ISO connector and not a Quadlock one.
Regards,
Moloy
