The 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been spotted on video during one of its test runs in India. The new Elantra is expected to launch in September 2016, according to various media reports.
The next-gen, 2016 Elantra has been spotted testing multiple times. The car spotted in the video is in a new blue shade, which is visible from the exposed pillars, roof and fenders. The LED daytime running lamps and taillights are also visible in the video.
On the powering front, the new Elantra will get two engine options in India. The 2.0-litre petrol engine will develop 147 BHP and 183 Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CDRi diesel will churn out 134 BHP and 306 Nm. Hyundai will likely provide three transmission options with the Elantra - a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch unit.
Once launched, the new Elantra will compete against the Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia, and the VW Jetta.
